Film Night “Beaver Trilogy”
SATURDAY, JULY 24, 8-9:30PM

A Film by Trent Harris starring Groovin' Gary, Sean Penn and Crispin Glover. Beaver Trilogy is a series of three pieces about the same subject; a young man from a small town called Beaver, who is obsessed with Olivia Newton John. The first piece is a documentary. The second piece is a dramatic work based on the documentary starring Sean Penn. The third is yet another dramatic work, this time starring Crispin Glover.

Performance Night.
SATURDAY, JULY 31, 6-9PM

Space I: Marco Scoffier
In Scoffier’s “conversation piece”, the participants are asked to stand on either end of a long board and balance it between them. Twin video cameras record double portraits of each pair of participants. The physical sensation of balancing on a seesaw becomes a pretext for exploring the psychological states of the participants. The balancing act seeks to encourage participants to shake off a layer of self-protection to capture a different, less self-conscious portrait.

Space II: Hilde Fuchs
Viennese artist Hilde Fuchs explores the “invisible“ resources, made visible through interdisciplinary research of public space, social structures, language, and body dynamics. Using elements of J. Grotofski’s theater method and B. Hellinger’s family-reconstruction, the artist searches for possibilities of failure and loss through subjecting herself to performance experiments. In “DEPOSIT”, Fuchs explores the poetic potential and dramatic imaginations of lost or forgotten clothing from public spaces.
